I am new to this board. My question is if you were sentenced in Florida but you are serving time in Georgia but Florida passed an early released law, would it apply to you? Or do you have to wait and see if Georgia passes an early release law?

I was reading on here about all the new laws passing next month and thought I would ask. :confused:

Thats a good question, I dont know. Was the crime done in Florida? And then the Offender sent to Georgia because of overcrowding?
That would be something to look into.

He is in Federal Prison and the crime was committed in Florida.

If he is in a federal prison, no STATE early releases apply to him at all. That is only for state prisoners.

Federal would fall only under federal jurisdiction and there is not early release anywhere in the country there except for the good time - 54 days per year and halfway house - last 6 mos of sentence or 10% whichever is less or the 1 year drug rehab...sorry

I keep hearing about all these early release laws coming up in July but where can I find this information. All that I have heard is things people are telling me. Thanks
