Going to FCI Seagoville for the 1st time on 7/1-7/03. I am coming in from Milwaukee, WI and I am staying at the hotel (best western) accross from prison. If anyone has a good idea on how to get to the prison from the airport (shuttle, taxi, etc) or would be willing to split the fare??? Looking to find some information or someone who could lend a newbie a hand. Mainly, I need to know if I will have to "drive in" to the prison (meaning i cant walk over even though its like a 2 minute walk). If so, I was wondering if anyone would share a ride with me. I can pay gas money. I am really scared about this being my first visit and all and if there is anyone who can help me I would appreciate it. Plus, it would make standing in line a bit more enjoyable. Please PM me if you are interested.

You can walk right up to the prison, there is a little store before entering into the drive of the prison. I highly suggest getting water and use the restroom there before going in. The line is usually long, so expect a LONG wait. sometimes 2-3 hours. It is hot and very little shade, so take an umbrella with you, you can leave it at the front with the officers. The guards are very nice. do not wear sleevless, khacki colors, or anything see-through or doesn't cover very well, they will not let you in. I go to see my son every other weekend, I drive 6 hours one way to see him. He has been in there since Jan. 06 and I have had problems 1 time when they said they could see my bra through my orange shirt, so i had to change. there is a dollar general down the road and a wal-mart. be prepared to wait outside rain sleet or snow. there is not anywhere else to wait. get there EARLY......
