torrey 03-11-2002, 02:53 PM Hello Shortie

I think this is from a web site you passed along. Have you already checked into this parole packet or maybe you just missed this?
If you would like a parole manual mailed to you, the cost for members is $25.00 plus $1.45 postage, non-members is $35.00 plus $1.45 postage. You may purchase your copy by writing to TIFA, 8407 Bandera Rd #133-117, San Antonio, TX 78250. A parole packet does not guarantee parole. However, it will help you highlight your loved one's accomplishments in prison and detail the support waiting for him/her should parole be granted.
Shortie 03-11-2002, 07:31 PM thanks torrie
I did send off for the packet but we are still worried about some of the other issues. He was passed up for parole in 2000 because he got into a fight. So I wonder if that is still going to have baring on the parole board. Can I talk to the parole board or what right do I have to inquire about his parole. No one seems to know and I am getting frustrated.
torrey 03-12-2002, 11:08 AM I don't know about Texas but the friend I have in Oklahoma did not tell his family that he was ready to be paroled. He spoke for himself without anyone there. This meaning to me they could have or should have been there. His mother called the governor of Oklahoma and greived the parole decison because she was NOT notified. The governor reversed the parole. That was in 1994.
Shortie 03-17-2002, 07:19 PM Hay anyone have any sample letters of support for parole. I just want to make sure that i am on the right track. Please let me know.

Shortie 03-31-2002, 04:01 PM I just got some really good info on a parole packet for parole in texas. I jsut sent support letters out to some of the important people in the process. I am going to send some more when they get ready to pull his file.

SHERRI
Shortie 04-02-2002, 07:57 PM Well I think the only thing we can do to help now is to write support letters. That is pretty much it.

I am new to this forum but I wanted to help if possible. It's a long story but my husband made parole twice and each time I got to meet with the lead voter on the case and I made a parole presentation. I also sent support letters every 30 days.Let me know if I can help with anything
:) LEslie
Shortie, why won't the parole board let you talk to them? I was under the impression anyone could be there to speak, even those who don't want the person paroled. I think a wife would have more rights to be there. (I guess I'm being naive again, huh?)

Shortie 04-07-2002, 09:13 PM I was under the same impression and I have learned it texas they do not do it that way.. But for those of you who know my style I will not stop there.. They are going to listen to me and I am going to make sure it happens in a very digified way.. I know his rights and I also know mine.. I just don't want to play this game with them. Hey any support or ideas I can get on him making parole I am open too..
