The following is one of the reasons I don't believe in the death penalty. If DNA is available now that wasn't available 10 years ago, what other technological advances will be available in 10 more years?

Convicted killer Kennedy Brewer will get his chance to prove he was wrongly convicted of the 1992 murder and rape of three-year-old Christine Jackson. A new evidence hearing has been granted by the Mississippi Supreme Court to examine D-N-A evidence that was not tested in the original trial. Brewer's attorney Carrie Jourdan says the evidence is clear. "A semen sample recovered from little Christine Jackson's body and that semen did not belong to Kennedy Brewer." If Brewer were to be given a new trial and released, he would be only the twelfth person in the country to be freed from death row by D-N-A evidence.

i am so glad that DNA is helping so many people leave death row!!! it shows just how many innocent people DO end up there. in the case of my friend, there was NO physical evidence in his case, just an identification. :(

I think all inmates should have free access to DNA testing. But however I dont think that many deathrow inmates are innocent, but as I am undecided on the DP I think perphaps life mean life no parole is a good idea, I do think however its totally wrong to execute juveniles and metally retarted people.

I agree aprilcat...

Hopefully though they will use the DNA testing on more death row inmates to help prove their innocence before it's too late!

I THINK ALL DEATHROW INMATES SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO DNA TESTING
