hello everyone.
I am a new member at PTO and i was wondering if there is anything that anyone could tell me about USP pollock in louisiana. My fiance just got sent there and i want to do everything the right way since i will be driving all the way from florida. that is a 12 hour drive according to map quest.

im actually not sure about louisana's rules but my first visit was a very new experience to say the least. I do know that there is definetly one similarity.. make sure that u get there in plenty of time. and at my prison that i visit we cant take anything over a 5 dollar bill.. but it doesnt matter i just usually take ones or quarters..i dont know how much that is going to help u but i just thought that i would share.. but i will say that it is all worth it once i got to see my baby there..:)

If you go to the BOP website (www.bop.gov) and click on the facilities and then on USP Pollack, they may have visiting information posted there. Do not wear khacki pants, sleeveless clothing, shorts, or mini-skirts or very low-cut anything. Dress like it's the 1950's and you go to Catholic girls school. Avoid a bra with an underwire that will set off the metal detector. Make sure your guy gets you approved to visit in advance. You'll have to fill out a form at the institution, so have your car license plate number and your guy's BOP number with you. Take government-issued photo I.D. (Driver's license, state I.D. or passport - make sure it's not expired.) The only other thing you can take in is money - take quarters in case the change machine is broken - and take your money in a see-through purse (like a small make-up purse) or a plastic baggie. Leave any cell phone in your car. No animals, cameras, recording devices, drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons or ammunition. And one more thing - have a wonderful visit! Z.
