Hi All,

My girlfriend will shortly be transfered from Pike County Jail to Tutwiler Prison. She got 7 years for DUI #8 with property damage, also classified as habitual offender. On #7 she got 7 months in Lee County Jail a few years ago. It wasn't too bad for her as the jail wasn't crowded and she had a relative in the Sheriff's Dept who kept an eye on her well being.

Tutwiler will be a different story I'm afraid. What is she going to go through during inprocessing has her concerned due to some history. What does she need to know to prepare herself. Also, she is a small and white, 5ft and 95lbs. What is she going to have to do to survive in there for 7 years? Will money help?

Welcome to PTO..sorry i have responded sooner. and I hope everything is going well for you and your girlfriend...as for your questions, I have no answers with the expection of...yes money will help, most people think that the state provides everything an inmate needs but that is far from the truth....

hopefully some of the former inmates will stick there heads in here and give you some answers..in the mean time, take care
