I'm Cheryl, Married with 3 boys 22,24 & 27.
My son Josh (24 y/o) was arrested in Mesa and being held for sentencing on 7/7 .
He did a plea for 1 class 2 which carries 15 years day to day with no parole & then a class 3 with lifetime probation etc. He was on house arrest for a year before we even make it to final court.

Josh is a good kid, just did one stupid thing and had a DA that was out to make and example of someone.

I dont know where he is being held until the sentencing, he has only been locked up for 6 days.

Anyone have an idea were i should call 1st?

Hi Cheryl, welcome to PTO and the Arizona forum!! :) Have you tried calling the county jail in Phoenix? I would say that's probably where they are holding him, but I'm not positive. Maybe try calling this # and see if you can find out anything...602-876-0322. One of the other girls might stop by with another number that'll be better help. My husband wasn't in Maricopa county so I don't know all of the numbers to call. Hopefully you'll be able to find something out there, though. Good luck, Lisa

welcome to pto,i also have a son incarcerated ,he has been in more than out since he was 15,he is coming home in sept.it is not easy having someone you love locked up.the loss of freedom and the ability of not being able to do anything about it is rough.i hope you support your son whiel he is incarcerated,let him know you are always there,phone calls,letters,visits.
that is what they need.

Welcome. My husband is facing 2.5 to 3.5 on a first offense as well. I have been told that the new DA in Maricopa is out to get everyone and is not interested in making any type of deals other than the plea bargain. I am sorry that you are having to deal with this as well.

Cheryle.............your son is probally in Maricopa county jail if he has not been sentenced. This will be one of last chances to see him before sentencing so i would suggest you call there and find out where he is..which facility. After the sentencing hewill be sent back to the jail and then moved to Alhambra where you will not be able to talk with him. He does has access to phones in the jail....usually,,but i do not know that much..so who knows. My 24 year old son is now in Alhambra waiting to see where he will be sent. I live in Gilbert..lived in Mesa many years. Mothers hearts are all the same...i share with you in this sadness.

Hi Cheryl and welcome. I too am new to PTO and also have a son who just went to prison, but for life w/ possible parole in 25. It is indeed a hard thing for a mother to bear but we moms are strong inside so don't give up and stand strong.
