Just recieved my letter and I'm headed to Carswell. How do I know if it is the camp or the FMC that I've been assigned to. The letter doesn't specifically say. I have no medical issues, so hopefully, it's the camp. I feel so much better after reading all of the info on this site regarding Carswell. Thanks to everyone for all of your support!

I just got back from the camp at Carswell. You can feel free to PM me with questions. I know this time waiting to self surrender is tough, but it isn't a bad place.

You will not be able to tell by your letter if you are camp designated. I called Carswell directly to get that information. You can get the number off of the BOP website.

Dear Scared/unsure
My wife has just been sentenced to 48 months and we are hoping for Carswell. Can you tell me if this is a good wish? I mean I have heard so many horror stories about the conditions there being so bad about medical provisison and everyhting. Please let me know if I am worrying about nothing or if my worries are legitimate
Thanks
K. from Texas

I was recently told I would be heading to Carswell. Like everyone else I'm not sure if it's Camp or FMC, hopefully Camp. This site has been a Godsend for me. I was scared and felt so alone. Texas is a LONG way from Alaska but everyone has been so nice. God Bless you all.
