since D yard has been locked down has anyone had slower than usual mail? I havent gotten mail in a week which is not normal for my husband, so i was wondering if anyone else seems to not be receiving the same amount of mail as normal. Either they are slower because of the lockdown or hes being a lazy butt :eek:

No, I haven't had problem w/mail since they've been on lockdown.. I have gotten 3 letters since Thursday. But I do know my mail hasn't reached him yet.

Hey girl sorry to hear about your gramps. You know, the problem is not only with D yard. As you know my man is on A yard and I didn't get any mail for like a week and a half. I thought that he didn't even send anything for my birthday and the only day he was off of lockdown and could call, Thursday, we got into a big arguement. Then on Saturday I got like 4 peices of mail and two from before these ones are still missing. I think that those of us who need it the most are the ones getting stuck with the short end of the stick. Hang in there girl it'll get there sooner or later.

Yeah, they up dated it already.. I think A yard has no visits for whites and blacks either and I think everyone else was normal.. Well expcept D yard. I heard that "POSSIBLY" they could be on lockdown for months, I don't know if that's true but that's what I heard. I hope not though

But I think they are really going to take their time, especially since one of the officers that was involved in the incident, ressigned the following day. So I imagine that they are pretty pissed considering that they lost a fellow officer due to these circumstances.. Which is understandable, even though I would really like to have our visits back.

Last letter I got from my friend, he wrote that he thinks they're going to be locked down 'til September, and we're going to be approved for visits before then. When ought my hubby and I call to check on visits before actually going? If we go, it'd be on a Saturday, so do we like check by phone the day before or something? We don't want to drive down there just to be told to head back. We're lucky-- it's only an hour and a half drive, but still... By the way, every time I write him, I get a letter back within 2 weeks, which to me seems appropriate considering he's locked up and all California mail sucks in general.

Hello, and welcome to PTO!!!! Only the southern hispanics are locked down, and this is due to an attack that happen late May, and it involved inmates attacking several correctional officers. Starting in August they are supposed to be letting them off lock down, in groups at a time, starting with the OGs first. Although on lockdown, they can still have visits. The visiting hotline, is usually updated by Friday, but not always. I have even drove up, and found out that they got slammed down the prior night. The visiting number is 1800 374 8474, just in case you dont have it.
