What do you say when someone makes a comment that is out the way? When people see you with your Black man or don't even know you're married to a black man and make a comment about race? I always get so mad and I'm not sure how I can handle it without fighting.

girl, you just keep on moving.....it isn't worth getting mad about. i have dealt with it for years, and am always amazed at people and their comments and ideas. I just chalk it up to ignorance. If I fought everytime someone said something that offended me it would be unreal. Wait until you have bi-racial kids, you think you get mad now?

I just pretend like they don't exist. I don't have time for people like that. I have a life to live.

Sweetie the best thing is like everyone else said keep moving.. Cause if you stop to pay that ignorant person mind and show them that what they said affected you in some way .. then in their mind they have won.. so when you ignore the ignorance its less stress on you.

That is pretty much what I do I just get so mad and so does he. Of all the things Clete looks at it as disrespect to me and I look at it as disrespect to him. I really do try to bite my tongue.

Sometimes it is all about delivery....I don't think defensive reaction makes people listen but sometimes just explaining your love and relationship can show people where you are coming from. Then there are just the ignorant a#*holes who never change and then you need to ignore them and think about it like the comment just came out of a mentally challenged person. Stay strong and you keep living your love because skin doesn't make the person!

You guys are great! I really needed someone to tell me that they where on my side. It seems like people in this town really have something against what I am. They don't see that I am in love and happy they just see the fact that I am with a black man. Anyone who would choose my ex who used to abuse me over my husband really don't love me. Clete treats me like a Queen and no one can change the way I feel about him!!

I tend to ignore it now.. When we first started dating I Wasn't used to it, and the town I'm in there really aren't many inter-racial couples. We have two children together and I personally think Bi-Racial children are absolutely gorgeous! not just because my kids are either.. lol

Girl, if you think this is upsetting, then ole girl is right, wait till you have bi-racial kids, and your daughter comes home telling you a little boy called her a n*****. Pissed me right off, I was cussing and throwing a fit at that school, which wasn't really right either, just so mad you know. Then we can never fully understand what's it's like because we are either all white or black or hispanic or whatever, you know, so you just do all you can to comfort your kids and yourself and it's just horrible considering how open people supposively are. I couldn't imagine dating a white dude though and I'm a white girl!! It's just not ever been even tempting, it's just my preference, and that is what I tell anyone who asks me questions. It's crazy cause I live in a lil Hick town, but there are so many biracial kids it's unbelievable, I don't get too many looks or comments, unless they are meant to be comical. All my friends kids are biracial! They are all cute too, they are the cutest kids. I don't have too many issues with it I guess. Nobody interigates me on the subject unless they are truly interested, and want to know how it is to have an interracial relationship. Just ignore ignorance girlfriend, and know that all those people that are talking sh**, especially those white women, are just mad cause they are too stupidly ashamed to get what they really want, that's a fine a** black dude!!! LOL!! I love em!! EIther that or just too scared of what is outside their own back porch!

easy to remember and one of those won't know they've been slapped for a minute or two: Wellllllll Aren't YOU special? and keep right on a going. My girlfriends 8yr old has been trained to say when asked what are you and that kind of thing "American and you?" I think that one is classic.
