We need our own forum. Come on guys let's get to voting so that we can have our own forum. Got a letter from my brother today at Old Folsom and he was wondering how I knew so much about Folsom. I've told him about PTO and he wants to hear more. I will tell him in my next letter to tell everyone to let their loved ones know about PTO and mabey will get more members. You all do the same.

I live in Texas but grew up in Huntington Beach, lived in Moreno Valley for a couple months, Corona for a minute, San Bernardino for 'bout a year. It is my brother who is in prison. How long is your ol man gonna be there because next time I'm in Cali I'll be looking for a ride share.

Hi Stephanie...
My husbands release date is March 23, 2007. I am located in Corona actually, so where you lived for about a minute, lol.
Im not sure if he may get out earlier or not -- his dad is looking to put a hardship through because both of his grandfathers have cancer -- and one his is progressing rather quickly. Also I am pregnant, so I am not sure if that helps at all but Im due Oct 3rd.
This is his first offense (breaking a window with a bat) he got two years, it was changed to one but am waiting to see when he gets to mainline if it is at all possible he can get released any earlier. :o

hi ladies i think we should do a forum for folsom since my old man is there and has been there for couple of months. he works in the kitchen. he said they are going to be transferring them to another prison because folsom its going to be only for protective custody.

Girls, You Got My Vote For Our Own Forum Although What Will Happen When The Guys Get Moved? I Guess We'll Just Follow It. My Fiance Has Just Gotten There To Old Folsom Like Last Week. I Like The Idea Stephanie2006 Had About Spreading The Word. Ill Do It Too.

Hi. Mine is getting ready to get moved to Old Folsom. How is visiting there? Do people come early and wait in their cars? Is it a number system type deal? Also, where do you all stay when those from out of town go to visit?

Thanks....

Hi jptb...my husband is in Old Folsom and I just went up there for our first contact visit last weekend. People do come and wait....and it is a number system. You have to wait for a big truck with lights to go down prison road (when turning from Natomas)...if you go before that truck they will make you turn back...you are NOT allowed on prison grounds before 630am - and thats going by their watch, lol. On Saturday I got there at 629 but figured oh my watch is fast Ill just go in. There were a couple of guards waiting by the entrance but no one made us stop and give us info so I just figured we were able to go in...well I went down the road to the prison and a guard told us we had to turn around...well by this time it was 630 and the truck was making its way down the road --- with what must have been over 60 cars behind him! We came out of the road and had to turn around...go back down the road and park. Well then everyones hurrying up - and I had no clue why mind you because I didnt have any information about this part of visitation! Well they were hurrying up to get a number. 1-40 is the first group then 41-80 then 81-120...u get the picture. Well I was 88 that day so I had to wait about 3 hours. On Sunday I was 33 so did much better! lol. Make sure you tell the guards when you get into the visiting process center (which they have to call out ur number group first to get there - and then u turn in ur visiting paper and have to wait for the inmates name to be called) that its ur first visit and how far you have to drive (if like me you have to drive like 8 hours!)...usually they wont terminate a visit if you are out of state and if ur driving far....this weekend I stayed at "Heritage Inn" in Roseville. If you go to various travel sites and click on hotel you want to look for hotels near Folsom, CA - Represa wont come up cause thats just the city/zip for the prison. The closest to the prison is Natoma Inn, but its kinda pricey running from $150-199 per night. Heritage Inn I paid like 60$ a night and it was pretty nice - about 15 minutes or so away from the prison.

Hope this helps - Janelle
