My son is in RJ Donavon and I need to know if I can send him books. Also what kind of paper, envelopes, stamps & pencils/pens that can be sent to him. If any. Please, any one with any information about this. He doesn't have anything in there and he'll probably be in reception for the whole term of his sentence so no phone calls from him. I'm new on this site but I just wanted to say for information in sending packages to your son you should contact the department of corrections for that state or call the prison directly. they will let you know what you can send. i know in washington state you have to send money orders for postage and put money on their books and the inmate orders writing materials from commissary. hope this helps

this will take you to california Prison shopping catalog and there is also a special order catalog for electronics so you dont use up all the weight if your sending a tv or radio, hope this helps you, good luck.

There is some basic info here about what is allowed in Ca prisons but they do vary by each prison

Try to send either 20 stamped envelopes and some paper. It all varies on what they can have sent to them. Remember that they ONLY go to the commissary ONE time a month.

how long do u think will get to them? bec I sent supplies last week & he said he didn't get it yet and also i sent money order 2 weeks ago & he never got it?

Give each of those one more week and then if nothing, then I would wonder.

dont the envelope take about 2-3 weeks and the money order the same. I just sent out my big package yesterda..w/20 sheets of paper and ten envelopes because thats all i had. his next one will be twenty and twenty..plus a money order but i want him to use the money order for LOTION, SOAP and FOOD! lol cant have him in there STINKING hahaha

Finally! he got his supplies...take about 8 days. But not the money order. hope he will get the money order soon for his food.
