Hi there, I have found this site soo uselful. I have a friend that was just sentenced to two years at VSPW. I was wondering what the minimum amount of time she will do is, it was a non-violent, drug related offense. I don't know if that matters. I know she had some days credit for time in county jail. Do they apply? Also how long to they stay in the reception area? Thanks

O.k. on a 2yr sentence w/ non-vio.(makes a big differance) commitment does half time. That is as long as she is programming or doing the bridge program on rc yard. And yes your county time counts as long as it was for the same case.Your time on rc varies. For a new commitment it takes longer than it does us violaters. She goes threw a bunch of processing first-medical,dental,pysch,physical,tab placement testing) after she does that she just waits to see her counselor in order to be classified. As a new comm. it took almost 5m until I got to the yard, but usually 45-90 days. The counselors are always behind......:o
