My hubby has been at Kilby for two weeks today. I sent him a letter, stamps, and a money order as soon as I found his address (using this sight to find him).

Will they give him his mail right away or is there a waiting time before they can receive letters or write?:confused:

It has been a total of six weeks since I've heard from him or seen him because of renovations in the local jail.:(

I feel so alone and I worry to much. Believe it or not I'm afraid I'll loose him through all of this.:(

They are suppose to give him his mail once they have received and looked at it. Sometimes it can take a few days for him to get it from the mail room.

I know I'm probably just overreacting, but I can't imagine why my hubby hasn't written me yet.:confused: He's been at Kilby two weeks now. My mind is telling me all kinds of things. :( Is there anyway I can find out if he got my letter with the money order in it?

:) well... I have been fortunate that when I send mail to Donaldson (Bessemer), it only takes 2 days max before he gets it and responds. Alot of others take longer I read. He may be going through a depression.
Just keep writing and let him know how much you care.
They say mail gets them through everything.

I get those same scared feelings when I don't hear from my baby in awhile. Mine is at Elmore and recently I'd sent him 3 letters that he never got. I dont know if it was the mail or the prison that caused this. he was really upset at me b/c he thought that I didn't write back and he'd sent really special pics of him and his mother and daughter at his last visit. There was one time where he didn't get some of my letters for weeks after I'd written them.

God Bless You and Yours...Son has to wait sometimes a few days and then other times maybe couple of days. We really don't write alot for he can call every other nite or every 3 nites and we now send him 1 money
order a month and he manage it good that is the way he said he wanted
to start getting it...hey it saves a little to do it that way. Hopefully you will here very soon and yes keep writing him as much as possible and let
him know you are there for him and maybe soon he will be transfer and you can visit him soon.....mother1952

My baby says that mail is really all he has and it really does get him through. It's now been over a week since I've sent his b-day card, a story, and a letter and I haven't heard back from him yet. And I sent him plenty of stamps with those. I'm getting that feeling again and i think the mailman is going to file a restraining order against me......lol

I think they have 72 hrs. I could be mistaken. If you go to the ADOC website and click on administrative regulations, you will find the answers to all of your "Official" questions

I wrote him back and sent it the day after.:argh:But on 1-07-11 i recieved a letter saying he havent got a letter from me..:angry:..and he was mad..So can some one tell me whats wrong..Why he didnt get his letter or will he get.I was thinking maybe its because it was around the holiday and it'll come later,but i dont know.:confused: !!!!! :argh: :argh:

It could be the holidays...I know my mail to my hubby was several days getting to me...and vice versa...
