I have to turn myself in to serve time for a drug offense in Riker's island. I'm coming from another state and I need to know what to expect. I'll be in there for six months, I know that's short time, but I just want to prepare myself.

Hello... I don't think I can help you much, but check this out... my fiance, well ex, is there to right now. He's in EMTC doing 5 months in a drug program. I'm still trying to figure out myself what he goes through everyday. But when you get in there, look for Adrian Gonzalez. He's been there since 5/13/03 and will be out on 10/13/03. He's a great guy and knows the system. Well I would hope so it's his second time away... first time in RI i think... he was upstate for a while couple years back. but hope that helps... at least this way someone there can talk to you... and don't worry he isn't a serial killer or anything.... let me know.... if you want to talk more ((contact information removed per PTO policy.
