View Full Version : Im back from MDC Brooklyn
ge1234 06-08-2006, 02:36 PM Hello all
I am back from my 4 month stay at MDC Brooklyn, Now I start 4 months home confinement.
Feels good to be out of that place, definetely not a place to do time if you have camp status. But the inmates were kind and helpful. The CO's are another story.

amcrae 09-10-2006, 03:27 PM Hi,
Can you tell me more about what kind of place this is? What did you daily?
I am worried about him, maybe if I had some more information about the place that would help.
He was sentenced on August 23, 2006. They took him right away.
He was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months. Does his time start ticking from day 1?
thank you and congrads on your release.

A MDC is a detention center where inmates are mostly awaiting trail or transfers. Some people with short sentences of a year or less might do their sentence there like the Enron wife. Since your hubby will be gone for more than a few months he will most likely be transfered in a few weeks. Anytime he spent awaiting trial will count as long as he was not being held on any other charges. (ie parole violation state charges) Check with TXRhino or Susan about time computations, they are very knowledge able about those sort of things. I dont know much about the day to day but someone else will come along with that info. Just keep coming online and reading and sharing. This is a support site as well as an iformative one so ask questions and know you are not alone.

HeSoHandsome 10-03-2006, 10:23 AM Welcome home honey. Feels good to be back on your home ground, right? Good for you. :o
Martha2 10-03-2006, 12:10 PM Welcome Home ! I have 5 months on the bracelet, have you been braceleted yet? It took them 3 weeks to get me all dialed in....no matter I am home. Take care.
pattygirl 10-17-2006, 01:41 PM A dear Friend of mine is in MDC, for 3 years already, sentencing is next week. He writes and tells me he is doing great, that sports and training keeps him busy. I still worry and wonder how he keeps himself together there. What is it like inside there? I am very far away and can only depend on letters. I try and write him 2x a week. Any tips on what I can do to keep him going?
ctmom 10-18-2006, 05:40 AM Write lots. Send photos. Let him know he's in your heart and thoughts.
ge1234 10-18-2006, 06:50 PM I can say keep writing those letters, everytime they had mail call it was like Christmas morning. The letters make you feel good and loved . Dont stop writing.
ge1234 10-18-2006, 06:56 PM On the bracelet just make sure you are on time by the second you have to be home and do not leave a second earlier then your allowed to leave.
Also stay within range and they will not bother you much. my PO came to my job once and to my home only once during home confinement.
I just got off the bracelet , I was allowed to cut it off at a specifc time not a second eariler and unplug the thing and brought to my PO 's office that same day. Free at last now have 2 1/2 years of paper left. hopefully I can get a early termination of supervised release. I will ask for it once I ve done a year. Good luck to you all !
Alexsandra 01-20-2007, 02:41 PM My husband did 3 yrs there before he was sentenced now he`s in Fort dix .
I think MDC It`s ok i don`t think the CO a very polite they kinda nasty .
MDC is a detention center they don`t do all there time there is just while they get sentenced or they are getting out or waiting to get ransferd from one prison to another
