 Sheriff contender says son's drug struggle taught him compassion

By Seth Burkett
DAILY Staff Writer

Tom Little, a 32-year veteran of law enforcement, said addiction hitting close to home taught him something 15 years of narcotics enforcement didn't.
Compassion.
Eric Little, the son of the 58-year-old Priceville resident seeking the Democratic nomination for Morgan County sheriff, is undergoing treatment for drug addiction.
"He sees a therapist on a regular basis. He is still in drug rehabilitation," said Tom Little.
"It has given me a greater appreciation and compassion for family members who have loved ones who suffer from disorders and incidental substance problems," the former Morgan County chief deputy said.
Hartselle police arrested 33-year-old Thomas Eric Little on Jan. 17 on a warrant for having allegedly possessed drugs in late December 2005. The incident marks Eric Little's third felony arrest in less than a year. :blah:

Maybe he will have some compassion for the rest of us that have had to deal with this problem. But I knew I had read this somewhere and didn't want anyone to think I just made it up to hurt Tom and his family.

As some of you may or may not no,Mr Little was Chief Dupty for Steve Crabb for 11 years. This man worked hard and was Loved by all as well as Steve Crabb.Mr Little has gone through as many problems as anyone else in this world.he is human. But he retired after Steve Crabb passed away. Now he is trying to make a come back to help the people of Morgan county and help the people in jail also.He is and WILL stand behind the families and the inmates.I believe that he will get what ever needs to be done done.Im not asking ANYONE or telling anyone who to vote for.I am saying we need a new sheriff that can and will get things done.yes mr little might have had some problems in his family but they are taken care of now and the lord has been on this families side.If you need anyone to talk to or need someone to listen to about the jail problems or anything else you want to talk to,he WILL listen to all.he did listen to me and has helped my family out a great deal.My prayers are with all.God Bless:thumbsup:
