 Sheriff contender says son's drug struggle taught him compassion
By Seth Burkett
DAILY Staff Writer
Tom Little, a 32-year veteran of law enforcement, said addiction hitting close to home taught him something 15 years of narcotics enforcement didn't.
Compassion.
Eric Little, the son of the 58-year-old Priceville resident seeking the Democratic nomination for Morgan County sheriff, is undergoing treatment for drug addiction.
"He sees a therapist on a regular basis. He is still in drug rehabilitation," said Tom Little.
"It has given me a greater appreciation and compassion for family members who have loved ones who suffer from disorders and incidental substance problems," the former Morgan County chief deputy said.
Hartselle police arrested 33-year-old Thomas Eric Little on Jan. 17 on a warrant for having allegedly possessed drugs in late December 2005. The incident marks Eric Little's third felony arrest in less than a year. :blah:

Maybe he will have some compassion for the rest of us that have had to deal with this problem. But I knew I had read this somewhere and didn't want anyone to think I just made it up to hurt Tom and his family.
