We just learned that my husband's request for transfer to the Sullivan Hub has been approved.

Does anyone have any information on the following facilities.

Sullivan Main, Easter Main, Shawnagunk

What are the visiting hours, how are the visiting rooms, how many can visit. What is the processing procedure like, also is there handicap accessability and parking.

Out of the three facility's you listed, we've been at Eastern and Shawangunk. Eastern definitley is better then Shawangunk, but both are decent. I'm sorry, we've never been at Sullivan so I can't help you there, but if you can get Eastern I'd go for that; it was the best max we were ever at.

I have been visiting Shawangunk now for 6 years and it is a good place. I have never had a problem with anything, and my husband has been ok there too.
I have also heard Eastern was not a bad place too. I don't think any of them are bad places to be, for what it is worth. Even being Max facilities, I am not sure he has much say in where he ends up going to though. He can ask, but no guarentee he will be granted that one.

i have been visiting my boyfriend in the sullivan hub for about 3 months now. the visits start at 9 and end at 3. they open the gates right at 9 am so dont be early because if its cold you will freeze waiting to go inside. once ur in the visiting room is alright. the c.o. usually doesnt even sit in the room with the visitors because its minimum security. you can bring food all year round. no assigned seating. and you dont even have to walk through a metal detector. they just hand scan you. ive been visiting my boyfriend all over for 6 years and this has been the easiest jail to visit so far. and i been to many so trust me. my baby will be home december 15th!! only 20 days left!!

I believe the question was regarding Max's in the Sullivan Hub (the question is about 5 months old though) ... Eastern Main, Sullivan Main or Shawangunk ~ all maximum security facilities. What facility are you referring to? Thanks for the info... this may be helpful to someone visiting a minimum in the sullivan hub if we know what facility your are talking about.

I've been to Eastern main and out of all of the Max's my husband has been in Eastern main is the best by far. The visits were very relaxed.:thumbsup:
