This is from the CSC website so it's pretty basic information. For you to visit he will have to send you visiting form and you have to mail it back with 2 pictures of yourself.
Follow ALL the instructions to the letter or they could send it back to you. It took me about 6 weeks to get approved. And that was around Christmas so it may take even less time. You can also call the prison after a few weeks and they can tell you if you are approved and you just may not have recieved the notice yet.
Good luck!
Erin
PS If your boyfriend got transfered there did they tell himhow long he has to serve? And did you have the baby?

Erin , Yes i did have my baby , he'll be two weeks old tomorrow . He's presious !!! Face and eyes of David. He was 7 pounds 9 ounces ..
They didn't tell David yet how much time he has to serve . he has 17 months left on parole .. I am sure soon they'll let him know . Is your man there? I'd like to know a little on the prison , not things you can find on websites , but from an insiders point of view ..is it a hard prison ?My mans from NL , and the prisons there are tiny and very calm .. I am worried he'll be overwhelmed with everything . iam trying to get him to behave so he can come home sooner , but with alberta prisons being so hard and all , i am afriad he wont beable to advoide the conflict . Is there many riots ? Murders ? Rape ? I am not really fimiliar with the prison system and is probably over reacting .. lol ... Any kind of information you can provide me with will be great . thank you .

Congratulations on your baby lost_in_canada!! I'm glad he arrived safe and sound.
I don't think you need to worry about riots, rapes and murders. They are not nearly as common as you see on tv and in the movies. As long as your man stays to himself and doesn't get involved in other people's business he should be just fine. ringo said he was polite and friendly to everyone but distant to most and when violence did occur it didn't touch him. The hardest thing for him was the frustration over communication and getting anything done.

Hi.... Drum is or was a party place...lotsa drugs and all. There is violence there for sure...I have been there when there have been murders. It seems that as a medium security facility, it is on the higher end....Bowden being less dangerous I guess? The riots that have occurred in Drum are on a much larger scale than those that occur at Max facilities...mostly because of the number of inmates out all at once... A max is more secure so the riots are a lot smaller. In prison, its hard to do your own time sometimes so avoiding trouble is not always possible. Tell your male friend to not get involved in gang shit...dont borrow canteen or have drugs cuffed to you....stay out of the prison politics.... Life is cheap in prison...
