Does anyone know how to find out about restitution? Is it true that it must be paid before an inmate is released from prison? How can I find out about my husband's restitution?

No it is not true that your husband will not be released before it is paid. He cannot transfer his parole until it is paid. Your husband should be getting an invoice each month telling him how much he still owes, just as him how much it is. He can also just send it to you in a letter. Love Barb

maybe try calling his counselor. My boyfriends mom was told by his counselor that he owed no restitution. She was also told this by the financial people at the prison.
