My nephew in Tehachapi was told over two months ago that he was going to be transferred to Donovan. I found out today that he's still in Tehachapi and is being made to wait in SHU.
He has been endorsed for RJD, his SHU was up some time back, March I think, but he remains in SHU anyway, and he is five weeks past his MERD. He is also a Level 3. Tehachapi has no Level 3.
Any one know how many buses have gone to Donovan in the last 5 weeks? I know for a fact that even if there is only one inmate to transport, that sole inmate will be transported by van to wherever they are being sent.
I called the office of the warden today (I know that does no good but I'm going to make noise and go through this process as well as other avenues) but was instead transferred to a Custody line. No one answered, this was about 4:30pm.
The person at the "02" prompt came back on the line and said no one was answering and to call back before 2pm tomorrow. (Thursday) Did he not know no one would pick up at the Custody extension since it was after 2pm? Or is that office staffed on Wednesday until 4:30? I said, "Before 2pm, okay. So, what, between 7am and 2pm?" He said, "Yes, 7 to 2." Are those the real hours?
I emailed the Ombudsman with the information and will call him tomorrow and also track down the counselor. Does anyone have experience there with who to contact and who returns calls?
Hello All! I haven't done an intro yet but this is what brought me here. I appreciate others' experiences and thoughts. PM me if you'd rather. There are things I would not post in an open forum like this myself so I understand. He's been there over two years, btw. He was on Level 2.
Either way, I appreciate anything posted and understand anything others would prefer to PM.
Thank you.
