View Full Version : Att. All Deep Meadow Correction Center Wives/Girlfriends
howtodeal 05-16-2006, 04:19 PM Okay, I know that this is not in the right place but I needed to put it up somewhere and find out some information. My fiancee was shipped today to Deep Meadows, I called down there to find out how I was supposed to write him and go see him and they transferred me to building one. didn't tell me what to do and when I could go. (well they told me that he wouldn't be allowed visits for 4-6 weeks until he is medically cleared) But still, if any one knows how to address the envelop and anything else that may be helpful. Please let me know:)
Daveswife 05-16-2006, 08:01 PM Ok, I moved it to the right place, but don't worry about it.
It will probably take all 6 weeks to get cleared. They are very slow and what they don't say is that as soon as he sees the dr. he's cleared. He'll be waiting for weeks for someone to tell him and they won't.
As far as letter. They will deliver them with the name/#, DMCC, State Farm, VA, Zip (it's all in Central Prisons info). As soon as he tells you which building and bed he's in make sure to use that above DMCC. They are ok for a bit then they get testy and very picky.
Read up on the posts in Central about DMCC and you'll find all the info you need.
ceehatch 05-17-2006, 12:57 AM When my husband moved to DMCC he was eligible for a visit the first weekend he was there. Just let him know that as soon as he is seen by a Dr. he needs to ask about his visits. After his physical he should be able to have visits. My husband wasn't aware of that until 2 weeks after he seen the doc. Good Luck!
Daveswife 05-18-2006, 08:33 PM My hubby moved on the 13th of Dec and I couldn't see him until the weekend after New years. That's how long it took him to see a dr. and he takes meds for seizures!
dwfighterva 05-18-2006, 09:48 PM Guess I should post my DMCC med horror story - LOL!
He went there Jan 10 and saw a doctor Jan 16 after I called several times about his meds. I called that Friday, and the next asking if he was on the list. No. No visit. So I start hollering since he wasn't getting treated properly, even got the new governor's office to contact them. He sees doc beginning of February and turns out he was cleared on Jan 16.
When you call, ask "What day this weekend can I come visit?" DO NOT give them DOC number, give them his name as though you don't know his number. Let them tell you when you can come. Do not mention a list or if he has seen a doctor or when he was transferred in. (Play dumb and say you don't know) Just ask what day you can visit.

timmyslove 09-21-2006, 03:53 PM my husband at deep meadow , he already receive visit , is there anything bad bout the place i should n obout co's and any thing weird, all info.helps
dwfighterva 09-21-2006, 04:37 PM Hi Timmyslove! Deep Meadow isn't a bad place. The visits are either odd or even based on their DOC number. This weekend, odds are Saturday and evens are Sunday. Be nice and cordial to the CO's and they will be to you. Go early and you should get extra time as long as they don't need the table. You can take in up to $20 in quarters for the vending machines in a Ziploc bag.
If you need any detailed information, I will be glad to help. Just PM me with any questions.

timmyslove 09-22-2006, 11:58 AM whats the best time to get ther for visit, i am gibg to morrow?
any advice ? ant one?
dwfighterva 09-26-2006, 07:04 AM Either go first thing in the morning, to get a longer visit, or try to time it so you are in when they call count at 12:30. Trying to get in for count is rough since a lot of people try that. Call first and make sure he has seen the doctor and is approved for visitors.

timmyslove 09-28-2006, 11:28 AM i heard that inmates that work get state visit is that true?
ceehatch 09-28-2006, 07:38 PM Yes it is. Usually the workers are permanently assigned also.
dwfighterva 09-28-2006, 07:41 PM I checked. To get visitation on state holidays, you must have a job at Deep Meadows. You may have a job there and not be permanent. Those there permanent are supposed to get two hour visits on Saturdays or Sundays. They have a very small permanent population.
As for the time you get on holidays, if he is a worker there, it would be a minimum of one hour, but with the new rules, you should get to stay until they need the table.
