View Full Version : How long for parole volation ? pls.Help

My boyfriend just got apprest for a parole volation . 7 yrs . ago he got charged with home invasion and is still serving his time for it . He got released into a halfway house 3 times , and volated it by drinking and ect.. His last time in , He went on the run , which was a year ago now , He stayed in the provience until a few months ago when finding out i was pregnant , flew too another provience too be with me and the baby . My man hasn't gotten in any trouble , no new charges , He HAS 2 steady full time jobs , a home , a girlfriend and a child ( due in 4 days , so excited ) He came here and bettered himself , he was doing great . Someone got drift of him being in the provience and his old parole officer in our old provience notified the police here and got them too pick him up last week , I am wondering , How long will he have too do for this ? He has 18 months left on parole. Will he get granted parole again ? How much time will he serve ?Please help . Any information is greatly app. I dont know much about this kinda stuff @ all . Will the parole board take into conciteration that he has a family , a newborn child , a job , and a home , No new charges and ect ...??? thank you for all your help . xxoo Patti

Patti, I'm going to move your thread to the Canada Forum in hopes someone there will be able to assist you as I have absolutely no knowledge of Canadian parole rules.

This is the info I found - hope it helps.

On revocation of parole or statutory release, the offender is recommitted to custody. If the offender was on parole and no new sentence has been imposed, the offender’s parole eligibility date remains unchanged. However, the offender must re-apply for parole, and his or her previous failure will be given careful consideration. If the offender was on statutory release, the offender is not again entitled to statutory release until after serving two thirds of the remaining portion of the sentence. The offender whose parole has been revoked wishing to be released on statutory release again must also serve two thirds of the remaining sentence before becoming entitled.
