HI all,
This is strictly a vent-post here. Forewarned is forearmed..hehe
Ok, in order to go see the man I love tomorrow, this is what I have to do tonight: Wash all clothes I will be wearing this weekend. Bleach my ID, wash and vacume my car out with bleach solution. I am not a dope user and have never been, but I just got a call from my man telling me they have done nothing all week but turn away women visiting their men due to that *&$##@* scanner. After working all week 50 plus hours and having two kids needing my attention and time, I am so glad that I am fortunate enough to go thru all this needless s*%$ in order to hug my guy.
He, by the way, doesn't see the problem as he is inside and has nothing BUT time...so he is thinking it should be no "big deal" for me. Add to all that the stress of worrying every weekend that my old battered down bomb of a car will die on the highway.
I am so grateful to have you people to vent to about this stuff as no one in their right mind would ever understand half of this..LOL

You all have a great weekend :)

Hey Grumpy,

I personally dont have to deal with scanners. But from what i've heard here, they are a huge, unrelyable obstacle. Unfortunately we here in AZ may be facing the same circumstances as you pretty soon. The reigns pull tighter with every passing day.

And just to stick up for your man (I may be out of line) but I don't think that there is any worse humiliation than having to spread your cheeks and toes just to hug the person you love. Just an opinion.

SHANNON-AKA GRUMPY

THEY ON THE INSIDE WILL NEVER REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT WE GO THROUGH OUT HERE ANYMORE THAN WE UNDERSATND WHAT THEY GO THROUGH IN THERE-IT SEEMS SO SIMPLE TO THEM-"JUST A VISIT-"BUT IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT. KNOW THAT WHEN HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THAT, WE DO--AND WE LOVE YOU- HERE'S A PAT ON THE BACK FOR ALL YOU DO- STAY STRONG!

shan: sorry to hear you have to deal with all that shit just to visit your guy. it sure sounds like those scanners are pieces of junk and don't work most of the time! maybe you could get a petition together from all the women who are perfectly drug free and present it to the warden of the prison? the chances of that many people testing positive for drugs is just not believeable!!!! good luck!

Hi Shannon,
Hope the visit went well... I know how hard it can be sometimes. Although I can't visit my Son at this time, when he was in a D/A facility I drove 200 miles R/T every weekend for 9 months. Don't think I could have done that with "small ones". Stay strongh, my prayers are with you.
