They will forward mail, but how long it will take until it catches up with him is unknown. My friend was moved and received my mail months later. One card took almost 4 months to get there.

Wait a few days about 7 days after he transfers and call the locator they will tell you where he is. Make sure you have his full name & CDC# 916-445-6713.
