My son got out on parole in mid January, lived in halfway house and the 2 1/2 weeks ago, moved to an apartment closer to his job. He did 1 year for felony DUI. THEN this morning we get the call telling us he is in jail. I spent the whole morning trying to get info since we are in different states. He said he thought he was being charged with public intox. That's just spiffy, isn't it. Any opinions on what the outcome will be. Since he recently moved, he is suppose to meet with new parole officer Monday. That will be good first impression.

My loved one's and I recently went through a similiar situation. Our loved one was released from prison for a drug possession charge. Everything was looking up for about the first 6 months and than before we knew it, we were receiving a call that he was in jail for another drug possession charge and DUI. He hadn't even been home for a year yet and was sent back to prison. His parole officer was not pleased. Will they EVER learn? :( My thoughts are with you and your family.

Has he received any treatment or counseling for the alcoholism? Of course he will have to want to do this for himself, in order for it to do any good. It took my father years to admit he had a problem with alcohol. ( luckily jail was not in the picture! ) I pray your son sees the light and asks for help!
My hubby is an alcoholic, and received numerous dui's, and did time for them. He is now admitting his problem, and knows he can never ever drink any alcohol again.
What it took to get him to realize and admit this, I do not wish upon anyone!!!
Sending prayers and hugs to you, that your son will seek the treatment he needs, and giant hugs to you to help you through this!!!
