Hi everyone,
I wanted to come on & introduce myself. My husband is incarcerated in a Pa. state prison. Serving 2-4 yrs. for multiple DUIs. The prison he is in is for inmates with substance abuse problems. I'm very happy to say, he is finally getting the help he needs. He is in a 6 mo. alcohol rehab program & is attending AA. He is very determined to stay sober upon his release. We have been together 11 yrs., married 6 and have a beautiful little boy, 3yrs. old. I have recently found quite a few prison support sites, and I find them very helpful. Not to many people on the "outside" understand what I'm going thru, it's nice to talk to people who do. Well I just wanted to say Hi! Hope to get to know you all soon!!

Chelle...
Just wanted to offer a welcome as well!! I am glad to hear that your husband is able to be in a treatment program while he is incarcerated!! That is great and will definitely help him to have established a recovery program before he gets out!
More to come... Peace!

Glad you are here Chelle! I think it is WONDERFUL that your husband is getting adequate substance abuse treatment while in prison. So often, that is not the case. I thnk we need to advocate for more of these programs considering the high percentage of inmates with SA issues. Take care

I am also new here. I just found the site tonight. My husband is in a TX prison with a 12 year sentence. He has served almost 3 of them. He is up for parole again later this year but I am not holding my breath. I am very frustrated with the whole thing but I am glad to know that there is support out here. Hope to talk to you later.

Hi everyone,
Feeling much better today. Spent last night in the E.R. Dr. says the lining of my stomach is inflamed. Got some really good pain pills & I'm feeling great now! But also a little out of it. Well, guess thats all for now, don't think I can post a whole lot that'll make any sense. I'll check back in when I'm off my little pain pills!
