Fed-X 12-02-2001, 08:35 PM I want to take a moment to Welcome everyone to PrisonTalk Online. I am still in the process of adding quite a bit of content to other regions of this website but the community discussion forums area is now fully operational.(less messages & visitors at this point)

I understand that there are a great deal of inmate's families and friends that still do not have their own personal computer, but that day is moving towards an end. Briggsy 02-21-2002, 07:31 AM  well David, I would like to be the first on this particular
post to say well done with setting this site up, it really must of taken up a lot of time and effort to do this, I am amazed that there have been over 100 persons viewing this post but not one of them have bothered to reply to it, well guess this is a start and is well deserved for all the time and effort that you have put in it for the good of us all. nice one. well done
and keep up the good work, you deserve it to be a success and I am sure it will be.
Its good that someone cares enough about his fellow mates and other convicts and ex- convicts or prisoners to go to all this trouble. keep up the good work.
Fed-X 11-18-2002, 04:18 PM A quick note nearly a year later!
This is the first post made at Prison Talk Online. It was made via a little Toshiba Protégé' laptop and my cellular phone while in the half-way house. :) I did most of the technical design work while I was supposed to be looking for a job. To me this was much more important and in the end I was about 10 minutes away from going back to prison for lack of having a job. Honestly, I didn't care all that much as long as I had this baby up and running. Lucky for me I had someone save my rear from the fire at the last second. The marshals arrived but I was covered.
Since this is the actual first post made on PTO, I hope everyone will agree that the official birthday of PTO is December 2nd. We're almost 1 year old now and we have come a long way in that time. I'm proud of our baby!
Well David what do you think about your dream now? We love you honey. Barb
Fed-X 10-04-2003, 12:46 AM I don't think it could be called my dream any longer.. (Though I am very proud) Too many other people at play in this one.. More like our "dream" or "baby"

FriscoLady 12-01-2005, 04:23 PM Wow, Four years!
I met PTO before I went in, but barely, David and the rest of our PTO family kept Linda company and supported her while I was gone.
The night I came home, she told me to log on again, and I did, after that well, David, your realizing your dream of PTO has made Linda's and my dream a reality:
No one will have to go through what we did alone.
Happy Birthday PTO! Every life you touch, every fear or pain you ease, every loved ones' heart that you ease the burden from is the reason you are here.
David, it truly has been a long road getting from there to here, it has been a long time, and because of your vision of PTO - and with the help of the PTO family you brought together - all of us know that our time will come!

That goes for the people here from way back as well as those that joined us in year 2, 3 and now 4... ;) I hope to look back on this very thread 6 years from now and reminisce on a decade of PTO..

Welcome to PTO DianneRog.
You have a better chance of finding answers to your questions by posting the questions in the state forum in which your daughter is incarcerated in. For instance,.. if she is incarcerated in Washington, .... post your questions in the Washington State forum. Go to the main PTO page and scroll down toward the bottom until you find Washington.
Good luck!

Jonathan 04-01-2007, 11:31 PM You will likely be in county jail - and fairly safe. Keep to yourself and you will be ok - to your daughter you will be away for a few days. Weekends are great and you will be over with it fast.
riodemari 04-10-2007, 07:27 PM hi
e_wife03 04-10-2007, 11:45 PM hi
Hello riodemari, and welcome to pto! You will find alot of support here on pto. If you have any questions feel free to ask
pacskye 04-11-2007, 11:40 AM LilMama, I know it is scary, but it will be OK. Jail is not fun, of course. But it is amazing what you can learn, from being there. That no matter how bad things are, it will get better. That no matter how huge our problems seem, there are others who carry a heavier burden. Four weekends is better than forty or fifty years. You will meet some good people who have done some bad things. Like me, like many of us. You will hear their stories, and be grateful for what you have that is good in your life, like your little girl. And you will be home again for her, except for the four weekends. Hope this makes sense, just try to go with it hour by hour, and it will pass. Nothing bad lasts forever. You will be OK, and maybe even learn things about yourself that you never knew. Like strength, compassion, and appreciation for being home and free, living your life with your child. Four weekends, you can do this. Best wishes to you, Pac
I've done weekends and I'm definitely not a morning person so that's what almost got me busted again. Those weekend work programs won't cut you a break so don't be late. Most of the time we were groundskeepers, pulling weeds, picking up trash and removing graffiti. The people who are given weekends and not straight time are usually pretty ok people who were in the wrong place at the wrong time or just made a bad choice just like me and maybe you. One weekend I worked in the main jail kitchen in San Jose which sounds ok but those co's are all the regular crew so you actually get the true feeling of being in jail. The weekend people are usually city or county employees who are a lot more cool. Anyway, no matter what you'll never look forward more to Mondays. I'm kidding its really not all that bad but really inconvenient.

FriscoLady 07-22-2007, 02:04 PM Shelly,
First of all Welcome to the PTO Family.
Second deep breath, relax - you are among friends now and we will help as we can.
Have you tried the Arkansas Forum or the Headed to Prison Forum?
I would start with the Arkansas Forum and then check out Headed to Prison. You may find some general info in Headed to Prison but the more specific should be in Arkansas.

thesweetness 07-24-2007, 11:49 PM  i am glad i found a place to talk to someone/somepeople to talk/chat with about my situation. i feel like i'm in room full of friends that are going through the same thing that i am. it's nice to know i can send, respond, and get responses from people who understand everything i'm feeling, and everything i'm going through. my baby, james has been locked up in WICC since 1996, and i didn't know how to deal with it, because we had just started our relationship a year ago, he gets out next year, and i'm glad for that. but still waiting is the hardest part, but there are other things we will have to go through when he gets out, things have changed alot since he got locked up, but like isaid, i love him, and we will be fine, thx for reading...

Asking to be let in won't help you. When you have been a member for more than 2 wks and have made more than 25 valid posts the system will let you in all by it's self.
