my brother was given a fine for being in the same lobby as his friend who was dealing. he was given a monetary fine and given 1 year probation. him being a jackass , did not show up to see his P.O. this was in 1995. (8 years ago) a warrant was issued and he was picked up last month(july/2003). prosecuter was a real piece of SH*T. gave him 1 year, no negotiating. court officers was even shocked. in rikers for a month now and he cant even get a job to pass time. was told school is full. (younger men get to go to school in there before older). DOES ANYONE KNOW OF EARLY RELEASE FOR NON-VIOLENT OFFENDERS(level 1) in new york? any info is appreciated.

Prosecutor gave a year, what did the judge give him? If that is the end result, he will do 9 months or so and that's the best that will happen. Sorry I can't tell you something better.

Thanks for your advice anyway. The FU***N judge just sat there and when prosecutor was done he imposed sentence. Really did not even let legal aid talk. IT was a very hot friday afternoon and he was last case for the day. what do you think happened. The 2 A-holes were in a rush to get out of the hot courtroom. Thanks
