JUSTICE BEHIND THE WALLS; Human Rights in Canadian Prisons. Cost $50, but also available online at <www.justicebehindthewalls.net> I bought and read this entire book, written by a lawyer named Michael Jackson, who's worked at prison reform in Canada for 30 years now. At times it is very full of legal jargon, but at other times, Mr. Jackson is very good at outlining abuses the inmates suffer. He has been instrumental in achieving some changes, especially in British Columbia. He makes some very good and sensible recommendations, such as bringing in independant outside arbitrators to decide segregation and transfer hearings! GO TO THE WEBSITE and browse some of his work!
