My boyfriend is in Hill in Ill. he got a total of 9 yrs, with 3 counts. the day after he went to jail and never returned i found out i was pregnant. wow-i was 40, but it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I have been in recovery for a year and have a wonderful life. only thing is idoc will not let me visit with our son due to one of the offenses being a domestic. has anyone ever dealt with this problem before?????

I am going through this situation right now. My husband is incarcerated on charges not related to me or violence but seven years ago while he was on cocaine, he threatened to hurt himself and I called police and they listed me as a victim.
I have been told I can't visit anymore, even though I have been for the past six months, and I have written to the warden explaining that my husband has had no other incidents involving me or our child and that was seven years ago. I just found out that we can now write each other and they are not going to make him take any domestic violence classes now. The warden is reviewing our case to see if my visits will be reinstated, so write your warden, include some character letter explaining your marriage/relationship and also explain the domestic charge and why they WERE NOT related to you. Good luck

Same thing sorta happened to me...my husband well fiance at the time was out of his mind on drugs so his family and i decided it was time to call his PO and get him into a program and get him help...but what does his crabby PO do instead, she tells all of us she's gonna come and pick him up and put him in a program for 6 months but instead dreams up a threat charge listing me as the victim cause she listened to an answering machine message he left while spun out and acting jealous over nothing...2 years and another strike for a phone message...and now i cant see him till hes released and off parole...california judicial system blows...i was still allowed visitation while he was in county so we decided to hurry up our wedding we had planned for next year and did it in county the day before he left for reception...i'm sure his PO's gonna love that one...so we're hoping now that we're married it might give us a little leverage with the whole situation but then again...like my husband says...what can go wrong will... and he's usually right 99% of the time...but i dont love him any less and will never give up on him...he's my best friend, my lover, and my soulmate rolled into one hot sexy body...and i'll be &%#& if someones gonna tell me my husband and I cannot be together when he's released especially when there was nor has there EVER been any act or even foul word of violence between the two of us...we have always been so sweet to each other it makes our friends sick...haha...so good luck to you with your situation and if you have any helpful information towards resolving these matters feel free to PM or IM me anytime...or if ya just wanna talk I'm here too...i'm running pretty darn low on the support these days and would like to know that my husband and I are not the only ones getting cheated out of our future together.
