hi, my boyfriend just got transfered from county jail to tahachapi (i thought he was sent to chino until today and have been getting info on chino, now i have to start over) i am new to the whole prison system and would like any info you girls have. i heard he would be in reception for awhile, how long does this last and what kind of communication can i have with him during this time? visits? phone calls? letters? is there a way to get approved for visits in person to make the process faster? thanks for any info you can give.

Hey Kristen. Welcome To Cci. Their Are Wonderful Ladiez On This Forum. They Have All The Info All I Know Is That I Think Reception Is 3 Months Or Less. He Can't Have Phone Calls, But He Can Get Letters And I Think An Hour Behind Glass Visitation. My Husband Was In Reception For Like 3 Weeks. He Has To Send You A Visiting Form With His Signature For Visits.

Hi, and welcome!!!! He has to send you a signed visiting form and the sooner you get it in the faster it gets approved. It depends on how tricky your man can be because my husband called me but he had to be sneaky and he wasnt in reception at CCI either so you'll just have to see how it goes. But ya no phone calls, visits behind glass for 1 hr and letters. After he goes to the mainline then he can have contact visits and more than likely he will be transfered to another prison that better meets his needs.
