Study zeroes in on genes for opiate dependence

NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Researchers are a step closer to identifying the genes that make some people more likely to become addicted to heroin, morphine and similar drugs.
In a study of families where at least one member was dependent on opiate drugs, researchers were able to locate several chromosome regions that are likely to harbor culprit genes.
