Ok, here's the update on Jason and the stupid ADOC . Jason had to go to court in Santa Rosa on 12/8/04, he was picked up on 12/1/04. The court was for a misdormearor charge and to review him paying his fines there. However, since he wasn't able to appear I faxed proof of incarceration to the clerk in Santa Rosa showing he was in Baldwin County. fter that Jason was revoked and sent to prison spending since 12/1/04 to 4/19/06 with the lovely ADOC. And to be honest with everything that is going on in my life I forgot about it (imagine that). So when Jason EOS out on 4/19/06 the prison checked him for warrants/detainers and said none, and released him. The next day when I took him to get his license the county arrested him for Santa Rosa...I went nuts, I called the prison and was informed that the ADOC only can check for warrants/detainers within the state of Alabama. So not satisfied with that answer I called Brain Corbett and wnet over it all, he told me that was true, he couldn't even access the NCIC for warrants in other states, said Alabama has no funding for it. I expained my son was released from the ADOC, and he was only wanted for a misdormeanor(which they made a failure to appear) since he didn't go, and Santa Rosa put the warrant in the NCIC database. But when the prison opened that door it could have not just been to a 23 yr old with a warrant for a misdordemor, the prisoner could have spent the last 10 yrs in the ADOC and then EOS out his date, he could be a murderer/rapist/child molestor/or even worse, he the ADOC would relase him, because Alabama doesn't have enough funding to see who they letting out in the free world and of course that prisoners would be smart enough to know not to go get a driver's license. I told Mr. Corbett that scared me as a citizen, and it was crazy that the ADOC cant' see warrants from other states, but the dept. of motor vehicles could...he agreed (big deal) and told me i could write. Boy!! don't you know that would do alot of good...Funding Alabama doesn't even put money in to the education of our children. Oh, buy the way, in speaking with Florida they do have the ability to access the NCIC system within there prison system. Ok, so Jason arrived in Santa Rosa this afternoon, I should have him bonded out by Thursday, and back to get his license, and off he's goes starting his new life/home and job (not to mention the work we have for him here on our 2 acres, it time for him to start paying back for all those collect phone call's....haha It did really upset him he missed his grandmother's 75th blow out suprise brithday party, which went over just as planned, when she got in the door, we didn't know if she was going to pee in her pants or have a heart attack. When she saw all her family/friends/old co workers...but the best part was Maddy her 4 yr old great grand daughter she is Cerebral Palsy, when Mom start that hot pink wheel chair nothing else mattered. When they went to leave she hugged and kissed Maddy and told her that she was going to try to live to be a 1000 yrs old, just to be able to see her grow put.....boy wouldn't that be something!!!Anyway, that's what we hoped would happen, we wanted my Mom reminded of what Maddy goes threw everyday (she eats through a feeding tube/can't talk/never walk....but she beautiful and all she does is smile's) would make my Mom get her will to live back again.....and I think it worked.....1000 yrs old......I want to thank each and every one of you you have became part of my family.....And finally in closing......
GO ADOC, GO ALABAMA....MAYBE ONE DAY THE STARS WILL FALL OVER ALABAMA AND A LIGHT WILL GO OFF IN OUR LOVELY GOVERNMENT'S BRAIN!!!!
God Bless,
