The visiting there sucks. First of all you need to find out what days you can visit. They go by CDC# there and they only have visiting a couple of times per month, based on what # they are. Ask whoever it is you are visiting. He should know. It gets so packed there that they split the visiting up into 2 time slots depending on what time you arrive and what # you are on your visiting pass. 8-12pm & 12-3pm. I'm telling you right now that if you want to get in early you have to line up @ around Midnite. There is a line that starts down the street from the prison, I'm sorry I don't know the name of the street. Anyway, clothing must be conservative, no hoods, no blue, camoflauge, white or underwire bras oh and absolutely no sleeveless tops. Shoes must have a strap, no slip ons of any kiind. And you can take money quaters & one dollar bills only. Up to 10 pictures. I think that's it. You know if you can get ahold of a live person at the prison they could probably tell you the name of the street you can park on. Good Luck. Let me know if I can be of any more help...

My son just arrived at CRC today and called me this evening. Any other info. would be appreciated--how long you have to wait, how far you have to walk from parking, etc. It does not sound like it is an easy visit. I had been so happy that that will be his new "home" because it is one of the closest prisons to my location.
Also, I hope they really do offer a good SAP. Does anyone know?
I was up the hill at NORCO - the womens's facility for 2 years. I always said that many times in my life I had often heard something referred to as a "rat hole" but had no idea what it really meant until I got off the bus at CRC! I had it pretty easy compared to most. I was on a clean dorm and worked in the canteen, one of the better jobs. But it was still a filthy place....and DO NOT DRINK THE WATER!! I make it a point never to drink from water I can't see through! At CRC you cannot see through the water. It is rusty in color and has things floating through it. Fortunately you can buy bottled water on canteen.
C GRAMS - one good things about CRC is that they have good SAP programs. My brother was in one and it is the first one that actually got through to him. I was not in for substance abuse, but he actually had pretty good things to say about it.

Wow, Pati--That sounds good. I heard, but do not know if it is true, that they have to have at least 6 months more to serve to be able to be a part of the SAP programs. He only has about 3 1/2 months left.
Do you know if that is the case?
It sounds so good that your brother made good use of the pgm.
