I have a severed ACL and torn Meniscus and currently on crutches. Will they put me in a FMC? is going to a FMC better than a FPC. I'm going in on a 3rd time DUI with no criminal history besides traffic. Any help is appreciated.

I believe the general consensus here is that an FPC allow much more freedoms than an FMC. In the end your current medical needs will dictate which is best for you. Is there a chance you can have the surgery to correct your problem prior to going away? I know the actual surgery is a "Same Day" Procedure (Go in before breakfast and out by supper) with a 3 - 6 week recovery.

I don't think that the torn ACL and meniscus will qualify for a FMC placement because it's not a chrinic or ongiong illness that can't be dealt with at a normal facility.

And as an FYI, in the federal system if you have two prior DUI's, you have more than just traffic violations in your criminal history.

I served a 6 month sentance at FMC Carswell ( Oct. 2001 - April 2002 ) The medical treatment that I recieved there was to say the least NOT very good. I suffer from asthma and other problems as well, I had 4 attacks while there and it took almost an act of God to get them to do something. I wish you luck Sincere Hunter.
