Forgive me if im making a new post in the wrong section but I searched on PTO for this topic and have yet to find. Being Tommy is in there for 18 to life I was wondering if anyone knew of any good prison books that were written by any lifers? I really would like to check out a prison book as I do not currently own any and I wanted to know if anyone has ever seen a specific book that talks about "doing time and not letting it do u". Im having a hard time with Tommy about that and all hes going thru and it would be nice for me to get my hands on something that I will really like to read. Thanks~

Check out the Publication Review section - there seems to be quite a few suggestions. I saw some under a "sticky" they have in that section.

I see you found the resources PW pointed out!
I can add some good books about prisonlife here:
I am reading Leonard Peltier's autobio 'Prison writings: my life is my sundance' (he has 2 life sentences although he did not do it).
'The Prisoner's wife' by Asha Bandele is also a very good book. My lifer friend liked it very much too ;)
Good luck and enjoy!

Secksi, the book "Doing Life" is really beautiful... and do try "The Prisoner's Wife."

Abelle also recommended books by Victor Hassine III that I'm going to check out...

I just bought a book called "life without parole" written by a guy doing a life sentence. I'll post how it is after completing it.
