Hi Renee! SNY means "Special Needs Yard". I'm not sure who goes there, but there's a ton of great ladies here that can tell you. Is your guy at Mule Creek now? Welcome to our forum!

Some of the people who go there are: Gang drop outs, sex offenders, snitches, gays, basically anyone who can't live on a general population yard safely. It can be a good thing, they usually have much less politics and general drama, because if you can't make it there, you go to lockdown and NO ONE wants to do that.

No, he's not there yet, but he sent me a letter saying that he is waiting to go to one of those units down at Mule Creek. I know that before in prison, he was heavily into gang drama, but really wants to do this little stretch and get home, no more politics- Because of me, and the baby, and my daughter. I'm glad it's not a bad thing, just wish he'd hurry up and get transfered! I still haven't visited him, waiting on approval. But boy do we write A LOT! Thanks for the info! Renee my husband was also very involved in gang life before and since he dropped out and is on the SNY yard things are much better for him. That is what he tells me..people just want to do thier time and not worry about anything else.
