I just called CCI because I wanted to talk to Che's counselor but she wasn't available so I aked the counselor who answered to help me................. what I wanted to know was if my hubby got moved (because May is his 3 month marker in reception) if I would have to re-apply for visitations because I was flying out and I want to make sure I have everything ready before I go...He then starts to tell me if I was aware that it would be behind a glass window(which I wasn't) and it would only be an hour and maybe I should reconsider.....because "it is quite a ways to come down just for an hour" and that because he is in reception he could be transfered anywhere :( Hes only doing a 2 year term, will they really transfer him out? I am so frustrated now I just want to cry after I went through all of this planning so they can tell me that :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry:...........Buttheads!!!!!!! tell me what to do ladies I don't know what to do :(

Oh hon, that is terrible. My man was at CCI reception and three days before our first visiting appointment he was transferred out to Jamestown. I was devestated and I am in the same state! If your going to the expense of travelling long distance you may want to wait for him to get to where he's going before you make the trip.

Yes, I would recommend the same thing, just wait until he gets to his destination so it won't have to be behind glass and you could have more time with him.

Girl just sit tight until he gets to where he is gonna be for the rest of the 2 years! If he is still in reception then ya he only gets 1 hr visit behind glass. That really stinks for you, but its all part of the waiting game! One thing that I have learned over the last 4 1/2 yrs is that you gotta have patience. I know it hurts (hugs) but your strong and you can do this little bit of time with him. Stay busy and involved in activites and continue to post on PTO and I am tellin you the time will start to fly by once you get a routine goin! I thought I was gonna leave the planet when my babe first got in trouble! But like I told you I found myself and got some hobbys together and made some new friends, ones that have been really supportive of my situatiuon and now the time is tick toking away like nothin! Keep your head up girl and know that your CCI/PTO family's got your back where ever he ends up!

So sorry to hear your visit is not to be what you wanted or may not happen. My husband has been in reception there for over a month now and I want more than anything to see him or at least hear his voice on the phone. But from what I understand, once you are approved to see him at one prison, that approval carries over to where he is tranferred if he is at all. Also I don't know what level your husband is or will be given but in talking with others, Level I & II seem to take the longest to get out of reception while CCI tries to place those that want the job progam,especialy for fire camp, with a bed. So....I don't know where you are coming from or if the price of coming cost you too much, but it seems everything all of us in here want or try to do is a "gamble". Meaning......you could come a thousand miles and I could come only 1 mile, then get there only to be told no visiting today. I say do what your heart tells you to do. Only you know if the cost is worth the "gamble" for both of you to at least "see" each other thru a glass. God's peace be with you and yours...........

Thank you ladies I really needed to hear all this....even though my heart still aches :( I will tell you that I am still going my ticket is bought shoot... I bought it in Feb. and if I get to see him I get to see him this trip is well needed and well deserved at least I will get to see my Fam. and maybe meet some of my PTO fam. while I'm there ;)

I fly out on the 23 of May my mom is going to get us....so don't worry too much ladies and I plan on visiting that weekend I come back on the 31 of May so pretty much I have a lot of free time in between the weekend and after that... I will PM you ladies ok and I will keep you posted....Hagan girl you won't even be concerned about me...... girl your man should be out by then....and if your more excited about meeting me than getting with your man then we need to talk:D.....LOL....
