Visitation Hours: Every other weekend (on Sunday’s) from 8am until 1pm.
Visitation Rules & Notes: When you arrive at the facility you will park in line. At 8am they will let you drive on into the facility & they will park you. After you have parked…you will get out of your vehicle & get in line at the building with the other visitors. At that time you will sign in, tell them who you are there to see, & show them your ID (you are allowed to take your ID in with you). You can take in $30 in change for the vending machines. You are also allowed to bring the inmates clothes or other things they need ONLY if they fill out a request form prior to visit. An officer will check what you bring & make sure there is a request form there for it…you will leave the stuff there with the officer until the end of visit. At that time the inmate can pick up the stuff to take back with them. Once you have signed in & checked your stuff in with the officer…you can go on to the visitation room. They have two visitation rooms (one on each side of the building) & then a “picnic area” outside. You are allowed to smoke at Decatur during visits (outside only) & you have to bring in your own cigarettes (unopened packs).
You are allowed a hug & kiss at the beginning and end of each visit. You can walk around with your arms around each other or holding hands as long as it’s respectful to the other visitors.
The dress code is the same as any other Alabama facility.
