THEN COME BACK ON PTO- AND LET US KNOW HOW IT WENT- GOOD LUCK!!! soraya 06-05-2002, 08:00 AM I agree with Jennifer...or you have something specific you need to helphim with? Ongie 06-05-2002, 08:28 AM Just be there for him. We can only imagine what they have to put up with. I have been with my husband through is entire incarceration. I met and married him while he was in the "street" as they say (I have picked up alot of prison slang) when I was nineteen and never imagined that a year later he would be convicted and sentenced to 15 years. I have been through everything imaginable w/ this man while doing time and I have found that the best thing you can do is just be there. Try not to push to much, because it is hard for them they struggle with not wanting to worry you, not wanting to burden you, guilt for not being there for you but not wanting to let you go. The range of emotion and inner turmoil is incredible. I very much admire most of the men in prison for dealing w/ the situation as well as they do. I remember the first couple of years I use to try to get my husband to express every little thing he was feeling and got no where. Now, I just try to live and let live when there is something he wants to share he does. If there is a noticeable difference, I will just say simply "I love you and I'm always here for you no matter what" and in a couple days or sometimes hours he will let me know what's going on w/ him. I know everyone and every situation is unique, but I hope I have helped in some small way. CREAMYALMONDZ 06-05-2002, 09:19 AM I agree with Ongie, that's basically the only thing you can do right now. |
