I've seen a few books on Amazon giving insight and advice for those coming out soon; has anyone read any of these or does anyone have any book suggestions I could send him which have really helped their man in the months before release? I'm looking for practical as well as emotinal advice, suggestions etc.
Thanks:)

I ordered "How to Love and Inspire Your Man after Prison" by Michael B. Jackson. It was a very informative read and contains a lot of information that I have shared with my man. I found the chapter explaining parole to be quite useful for me....since I have never understood any of the issues involving parole....it was quite an eye-opener. (It's a bit alarming to find that most parolees don't have a clue about the conditions/rules concerning their parole and that it's one of the reasons they end up back in prison).
I ordered "How to Do Good after Prison..." for my Baby today. He should be receiving it from Amazon in a few days. I am hoping it will put the entire ordeal/his situation in a much more reasonable perspective for him once he reads it. Since his parole denial back in October, I believe he had pretty much given up or at least wasn't very optimistic about ever being paroled. But now that I've been doing research and reading and sharing with him what I'm learning, he's also beginning to do more on his end to educate himself and preparing for that day. He also volunteered to give me his case # and info so that I have access to his information. At least, by him doing this, I know he still trusts me after all these years.

Thank you for the book suggestions. I will look into them also.
I have read in another thread about two other books that were helpful...
1. "99 Days and Get Up".
2. " Chicken Soup for Prisoners"

The PTO'ers seem to like those also.
Thanks again...

I got an email about a book about to be released that is specifically for black men about to be released. The author is Demico Boothe and it is available at Barnes and Nobles for pre order. The publisher is full surface publishing.
