I would like to know how many magazines an inmate can receive.

My hubby will be going to a camp and I want to order magazines for him, so he won't be bored. Are there magines that are not allowed?

Thanks:)

He can receive an unlimited amount but some facilities will limit how many he can keep in his locker at one time. When I was at FPC Bryan that limit was 5.

He could not receive anything with nude photos or from any group that would promote violence.

Great! I will order magazines for him and hopefully they will keep him occupied.

Thanks, Susan!

You can also have books sent in directly from a bookstore or through amazon.com or other online booksellers.

There is a limit of 5 magazine subscriptions. There is also the requirement that only current magazines are allowed in the inmate's possession. Meaning that after April, all mags from April should be discarded. Now the real question is....... what is enforced. I have never seen any staff member count the number of mag subscriptions that an inmate receives. (Unless it is VERY obvious that something is out of hand). So, in most cases the 5 limit is not enforced (But keep in mind that at any moment it can be). Second, most staff don't care how old the mag is unless the inmate has too many and/or is transferring somewhere else.

I hope this helps you in your decision

Best of luck
