My man was sent to CCC this weak so i am really :( sad because i live in bakersfield and now he is 8 hrs away from me we have a 7month old son that now he can not see until next year when he gets out i do not understand how this works so let me know please if he happens to go to a firecamp and they originally gave him 2 yrs will they take some time away this is very hard for me to handle so can you guys help me with a little support to help me get through this

Awww..Sweetie, I know its hard, My husband is in CCC and hes been there since November. We also have a baby, hes 5 months old now, OH and we have an 11 year old too. IF your husband gets approved for firecamp I think they take 20% off his time. But he has to go on a waiting list first then it takes 4 ever to finally go. My husband got denied firecamp because of something on his record from 1993! I live in Orange County and I drove up there once and it was a 10 hour drive. It was totally worth it because the visits were good you get to sit next to your man and hold his hand and walk around holding hands. :D But the distance between us is crazy! He was denied his first transfer and is appealing it now. Don't worry though as hard as it is, the time actually does go by quick. Next month my husband will have been in a year already and he gets out in june 07, so only a year left! Anyways, You'll be fine, Its just a little bump in the road.;)

Hey hun-its ok. I know its hard when they first get sent away. I'm sure everyone here has experienced what you are feeling.. I also have a 5 month old daughter, it's difficult and sad not to be able to share the experience with them. But just hang in there! All the woman here @ PTO are amazing woman & we all have something in common. We have great ears & typing skills for listening and giving support!
