my man just got moved to calipatria last tuesday i have a appt for a visit this weekend its 1 hour behind glass so we will see how it goes.but today i got a leter and he said the guys told him that the visits are only for like 20 mins i hope not that will really piss me off.

My husband was at Calipatria for 9 years. And I can honestly say I liked that prison the CO were pretty cool. It's hell of hot in the summer time. Family Visits were nice. And window visit were 2 hour visits. I can't believe 20 mins thats crazy! You May want to call Calipatria Visiting Dept and ask Lilly(shes really nice, very helpful). Also just an FYI cars start lining up the night before. Hope this helped a little.

iv heard that they got a new warden and that they should be getting off within the next month.it is far for a 20 min visit but i miss him and he is alot closer to me now im only a little over an hour away now before i had to drive 5 hours so i am very thankfull........iv also heard that when they do get thier visits back that the visits are kick back not to strick which im glad to hear that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Ladies, My man got to Calipatria in October. He was in Susanville a HELL of a drive from LA. He is almost done with his 4 year sentence this summer and damn ladies it has been a roller coster ride. I 'm glad I don't have to drive 9 hours but now its behind glass. I have gone for a glass visit. You have to call starting at 8am monday morning for a 1 hour visit. I had one for it was either 11:30 or 12:30 I can't remember on a Sunday and I didn't see him for at least 30 minutes after the appointment. Because there was a count. So I could see where they could cut visits short but they didn't for ours it was about an hour. I don't plan on going back until the regular visits come back because I hit major traffic on the way home to LA it took like 5 hours which it usually takes about 3. On regular visit days the lines are crazy. I got to the prison at 8am and I was number 180 I couldn't believe it. Hope this info helps. Take care!

Hey ladies, my honey just got transferred a couple a weeks ago, and he has been writing to me almost twice a week, and yes they are still on lockdown and was informed it could be about up to 9 months, I hope not. I am from central Cali, and he doesn't want me to drive almost 8 hours for an 1 hour window visit, he will released in about 1 month, WoW!! Like you said, KEEP UR HEADS UP!!!

Wow I Can Admit To The Cas Lining Up Way Before Visiting Starts Because I Use To Be One...oh My Goodness, But Once You Pass All That It Seems To Go Alot Smoother. But Truth Is The Earlier The Better..i Never Had Issues With That Prison Exept One Time When It Just Seemed I Was A Target For Bullmess..but It Was Minor And I Still Got A Visit That Day..i Realy Dont Keep Up As Much As I Can Anymore Because Truth Is I Have Too Much Going On Now Days To Visit Anymore. My Ex Dude Was On C Yard For A While. When I Did Go Visit I Had Minimum Problems With That Yard. He Had Minimum Problems As Well. Then He Went To B Yard(no Disrespect To Any One Who Love One Is There) But Dang They Stay On Lock Down. When I Use To Call The 800 Number I Would Hear B Yard Has No Visits ..but Thats Where He Is Now..

He got out 2 months ago but they put him back in, he was in the hole last time for 8 months. He was suppose to get out on a friday, which his P/O didn't have a problem with but the good ol guys at Calipatria did:blah: So they didn't let him out til Sunday :eek: So I had to wait two days for Him:blah: Well I stayed there in EL Centro and went back to the bus station to pick Him up on Sunday and he did get release that day and all was right with the world:thumbsup: They drop the guys off and check your ID and make should you have it and if you are driving:eek: Well good thing I was good to go, cause the guys that don't have someone there, the C/O makes sure the guys get a ticket to somewhere and waits there with them til they get on the bus going out of town!:eek:

A yard is rowdy. my husband was in there back in 2002 when they had a big riot and he went to the hole, out of all the yards i found a yard to be alot more on lockdown than the rest.

hello ladies i am just here at home i am happy out mail is finally on track he gets my mail quick compared to taking 3 to 4 weeks at lancaster this is amazing i am still sad they are on ld still i am getting anxouse to see him already withdrawls from missing him :( so i am already expecting it to be hella hot when i go can we take umbrellas or hats? to shade from heat mabey in line? i was not expecting it to be a humid hot since its not near the ocean dang i hate sweating any good make up tips not to look oily and have runny make up before going in or frizzy hair yikes:D well at least i will get a tan and not have to go to tanning salon j/k:ha: well i dont care if i talk to my self on this thread i am gonna spice it up lol come on ladies

When I went to Cali. I drove up the long road to the officer at the entrance shack got my #, parked my van and walked into the waiting area till they called my #. I had an appt. for 145pm so I had to get there 45 mins. early, there is a patio area with shade and chairs for sitting in the waiting area. In the visiting room for the Ad.Seg. it is inside so we weren't outside at all. I had a window visit for an hour. The heat you feel but your not standing in it. At least that was my experience on my visit to Calipatria.

Just wondering if anyone is going. I promised my cousin that i would come and see him, but the way i hear everyone talking about the heat has me a bit nervous:o . I know it's like 110 or something like that. I really don't want to go, but a promise is a promise.

Wasn't that bad. I went to visit my cousin on B-yard. I got there around 10am and was the only person in there (that was nice). I took less that 5 minutes and I was in. I caught the shuttle just as someone was getting dropped off, although I was a little surprised that an inmate was driving. It wasn't too crowded in there and there was actually still some food and water left:D .

I was really surprised at how much contact was allowed. The guards just seemed to either not notice or not care that some of those guys had their hands all the way up their woman's skirt - didn't matter that kids were around. I even saw one female giving her man...well you know. Other than that it was cool. I'm glad that I went. My cousin was extremely happy to get out of his cell for a few hours.:thumbsup:

I sent my cousin some books on May 25 and he didn't receive them until mid June so it took about a month. Perhaps they were just really backed up because they had been on lockdown. I just sent him another book about 2 weeks ago so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for him to get that one. I send all of my books through Amazon.com - it's cheap and easy.

he was transfered a week ago from north kern I Am Approved but he can't have visit for 10 days so it kinda sucks for me and his mom

actually the mail is pretty good when he was at lancaster it take a month to get a letter now its just a couple of days mabey a week the most but when he first gets there it does take time anywere and yeah it does feel far and i see ur in the valley but i am happy my self that my man did not get transferd up north 12 hrs away but i do feel its far too lol

Yeah, I do what I can. It's unfortunate though for him to be so far away from all of us. I'm only two hours away everyone else is through hours away.
