:cuffs: With all the stuff in the news about the catholic priests and the sexual abuse scandals, has anyone heard of ANY of these priests being held in jail, anywhere?? Do you really think that CA will lock up priests? I will be very suprised if any of them do any time, before or after any trials, if they even end up in a trial!!! I just keep hearing on the news how terrible all this abuse is, yet I dont see CA doing much of anything about it other than saying its bad. Anyone hear anything else?? Annie

I've been trying to see why thing are being handled as they are.

The only thing I've come up with so far is, The RC Church is the only religion that claim it's self as a country (Roam) and the USA excepts that. Does that put "priests" on a different playing field (dipomatic relations) so the Vatican is the one to deal with it?

The book which made the moral rules for our society, these "offenders" (for politcally corrsctness) whom steadily oppose homosexuality and things of that nature, are the biggest hippocrits. CHILD RAPE is the only appropriate word for it. If it was your next door neighbor would you tolerate it? I think not. As a survivor of sexual abuse (by my own father, not a priest, who is now finishing his 19.5 yr sentance in FED prison for doing the same thing to others) I feel that the priesthood should not shield an offender. We are ALL human and should receive the same punishment. God will do his work when we get there. Bieng a pedaphile priest is not "serving god"
