My son plead guilty on Wednesday to his 2nd felony. Malicious mischief 2nd. He had a home detention monitor on his ankle and cut it off and threw it in the river back in May. He got a good deal seeing as how he has allready been to a juvenile istutition. After sentencing, we had to go downstairs to the sherrifs office and Josh had to submit a DNA sample to keep on record! I had never heard of this and it made me sooooo sad. He is only 15.

Kelli,

I am the mother of three boys ages; 21,19 and 15, and I can empathize with the anguish you must feel for your son. As a mom, we want them to make wise decisions, surround themselves with good people and treat others with respect. Reality is sometimes they don't.

Does he understand the significance of having his DNA on file?

Keep working with your son, maintain communication (even if it just one or two words here and there) and continue to love him.

Love, Freya

I am sorry about everything you are going through. How is your son doing? What is going to happen to him now? He is only 15, does that mean he goes back to a detention center? Hope everything works out for you.
