I recently heard from a friend who is in Seagoville FPC. He says that they are on a 32 point system per month and each hour is 2 points. There is no visitation during the week. This seems more restrictive than in a FCI where you have visitation during the week for 1 point per hour. Can someone give me some insight into how FPC visitation hours work? Thanks

The point system was probably implemented due to being at or near capacity. Like any building, the visitation room has an occupant limit established by fire ordinances.

When I was at FPC Bryan there were no limits to number of visitors or time spent. My visitors often arrived at 9 and stayed until 5. Vistitation was only allowed on week-ends and Federal holidays.

SusanT is right on the money. Point systems seem to be used in facilities were there are more visits than can be accomodated by the space allowed.

Keep the Faith

I visit a FPC in Illinois and they do use a point system, but it it for days I believe not hours. Visiting (sign in anyway) begins at 8am until 3pm Saturdays and Sundays and Federal Holidays only.
We live quite a distance away so the point system hasn't been a problem for us thus far.

Points vary according to institution. I remember visiting at USP Lompoc, where it was 40 points per month and points were used per hour - 2 for weekend hours, 1 for weekday hours. Then my husband ended up at Sheridan FCI, where they said it was 20 points per month. I was all upset about that - thinking that it was half the visiting time - until I learned several months later that it was points per visit - not hour!! Zelda

Dave advises me that they get 25 points per month. its 1 point for a weekday visit and 2 points for a weekend visit. Also, no visitation on Tues or Wed. He is at Seagoville too. Although, it might be a little different for those people at the FCI than those at the camp... You could always call the desk clerk at the prison just to double check; but i am confident its points per visit, not per hour.
