My son just returned home from prison - his parole is for san bernardino county but, they assigned him his "old" parole officer who is in riverside county! This PO is the one who sent him back to prison on a "technical" and constantly gave him/family/friends a hard time. Why can't he be assigned a new po from the county the board sent him to???

I would think he would be assigned to the PO who covers the are he resides in, call the local PO office and ask.

That's weird because if that P.O. doesn't work out of the SB office than how can he be assigned as his parole officer. I'm wondering if that isn't an error. When he reported who did he see -- his assigned parole officer or the officer of the day.

We had a PO from the neighboring county because we lived pretty close to the county line and the POs in our conty were more overburdened then they were. So it does happen. We had a couple of different guys from that county before we moved, so it wasn't an error.
