My man is in Sussex I State Prison and I sent him back a visiting form that says you have to get it notarized in the state u reside in. My ID is from Florida and I live in New York so of course I got it notarized in New York. My first question is do you think they will deny my form? The second is I have a felony conviction in New York, you think they will deny me or do you even think they will check New York being that my information (address) is in Florida? I can not go 4 years not seeing him!!! To get this far and not be able to see him will kill me. I went to visit him in the county and regional jails and was behind a 2 inch thick glass and was so ready to feel his touch, just to get to this fork in the road. HELP!!!!!!

Sometimes they do background checks, sometimes they don't. I think it all depends on the prison. I've never had to fill out a visitation form, my husband usually does it, so I really couldn't tell you. As far as the felony, I would think that as long as you aren't on probation, it shouldn't be a problem. But I'm not certain on that. There should be some others in this forum that should be able to help you.

They are pretty strict about things at Sussex because it is a maximum security facility. They definitely do a CORI and they gave us a hard time because I listed my street address on the form and my license has my PO Box # ( in the same city and state!) Good luck!
